SGL Carbon raises annual targets following US capacity expansion
SGL Carbon has raised its annual financial targets following a strong performance in the first three quarters of the year. The company now expects an adjusted EBITDA (EBITDApre) of 130 to 140 million euros, up from its previous guidance of 110 to 130 million euros. Revenue is projected to reach the upper end of the previously stated 720 to 770 million euro range.
To support growth in strategic sectors, the company has completed significant investments in its St. Marys facility in Pennsylvania, USA. Approximately 100 million USD has been invested in expanding capacity to meet the high purity requirements of the semiconductor and nuclear energy industries.
In its Meitingen location, the company produces high-performance components, including brake discs for luxury automotive brands such as Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, and Lamborghini. SGL Carbon currently holds a market-leading position in brake disc production, with an annual capacity of 300,000 units. The company exports products to over 190 countries, though it faces challenges from high energy costs, which can account for more than half of its production expenses.
