SGL Carbon financial target increases

Overview

SGL Carbon SE, a manufacturer of graphite and carbon fiber, has raised its annual financial targets. The company increased its adjusted EBITDA forecast to a range of 130 million to 140 million euros, up from the previous guidance of 110 million to 130 million euros. Revenue is expected to reach the upper end of its projected 720 million to 770 million euro range.

This upward revision follows a strong performance in the first three quarters of the year. The company attributed its growth to significant investments, including approximately 100 million USD used to expand capacity at its St. Marys facility in Pennsylvania, USA. This expansion is intended to meet high purity requirements for the semiconductor and nuclear energy industries.

While the company maintains a market-leading position in brake disc production for luxury automotive brands, it continues to face challenges from high energy costs, which can represent more than half of its production expenses.
