Shadow of the Road trailer showcases alternate Bakumatsu Japan

Owlcat Games released a new trailer for Shadow of the Road, a turn‑based tactical RPG developed by Another Angle Games. The trailer reveals the game's setting in an alternate 19th‑century Japan during the Bakumatsu period, where the shogunate and imperial forces clash amid steam‑powered technology, traditional architecture, and supernatural kami and yōkai.

Players assume the role of a Tokugawa clan strategist, recruiting ronin and protecting a powerful child, with choices influencing character relationships and the story's outcome. A playable demo is available for PC on Steam, though no official release date has been announced.
