Shafi Burfat proposes Sindh National Unity Convention
Shafi Burfat, chairman of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), has proposed a Sindh National Unity Convention to address the region's future. The initiative aims to convene political parties, civil society, intellectuals, journalists, students, and representatives from various linguistic and religious communities.
Burfat suggested that the convention should take place initially in Sann and later in Karachi. The proposed agenda includes discussions on territorial integrity, water resources, land, coastline, natural resources, human rights, and political participation.
The proposal calls for the adoption of a 'Sann Declaration' and a 'National Charter for Sindh's Unity, Survival and Equal Citizenship,' alongside the creation of expert committees focused on sectors such as water, land, and ports.
