Shah Ghulam Qadir Azad nominated as Azad Kashmir PM

Shah Ghulam Qadir Azad, President of the Muslim League (N) in Azad Kashmir, has been nominated for the position of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The decision followed a consultative meeting in Rawalpindi chaired by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also in attendance.

Qadir, a veteran politician with over three decades of experience, has served seven terms in the Azad Kashmir Assembly and twice as Speaker. He has previously held various ministerial portfolios, including Finance, Planning and Development, Food, and Information. He is scheduled to contest the election for Leader of the House in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday, with his swearing-in ceremony expected to take place on August 27.
