Shake Shack to enter Brazil in 2027 via Bold Hospitality partnership

American burger chain Shake Shack is set to enter the Brazilian market in 2027 through a master franchise agreement with Bold Hospitality Company, the group that operates Outback Steakhouse in the country.

The partnership aims to open at least 40 restaurants across Brazil over the next decade, with the first location scheduled to open in São Paulo during the first half of 2027. Mauro Guardabassi will lead the brand as president. The company intends to utilize local producers and suppliers to support its operations.

Bold Hospitality Company, formed in 2025 through a partnership between Vinci Compass and Bloomin’ Brands Inc., manages several major brands in Brazil, including Outback Steakhouse, Abbraccio, and Aussie. Bold CEO Pierre Berenstein indicated that while the current contract targets 40 locations by 2036, there is potential to expand to hundreds of stores in the future.
