Shakira arrives in Madrid for 12-concert residency and Macondo Park festival
Colombian superstar Shakira has arrived in Madrid to begin a historic 12-concert residency in the Villaverde district, marking the final stage of her ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour’. The residency, scheduled across four weekends from September 18 to October 11, will take place at the ‘Estadio Shakira’, a temporary high-tech venue constructed at Iberdrola Music with a capacity of 50,000 people per night. The event is expected to draw over 600,000 spectators in total.
Beyond the musical performances, the residency features ‘Macondo Park’, an ephemeral 150,000-square-meter cultural space inspired by the literary world of Gabriel García Márquez. Part of the ‘Es Latina’ project, the park will host themed pavilions dedicated to gastronomy, literature, fashion, art, and cinema. The musical lineup includes various artists such as Amaia, Nathy Peluso, and Guitarricadelafuente. The residency is projected to have a significant economic impact on Madrid, estimated at approximately 150 million euros, driven by international tourism in the hospitality and transport sectors.
