Shakira 2026 tour and Madrid residency

Overview

Shakira’s North American leg concluded in late July 2026, after a second Miami show was added to meet demand. The tour then paused for August before moving to Madrid, where the Iberdrola Music arena is being converted into a temporary “city” called Macondo Park. The immersive venue, overseen by BIG, will feature eight themed pavilions—music, fashion, gastronomy, literature, art, cinema, children’s culture and Shakira’s own creative universe—arranged around a central Macondo Plaza. Inspired by the magical realism of Gabriel García Márquez’s ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’, the site includes a ‘Macondo tree’ and color-coded paths. The gastronomy area will feature food trucks and an ‘infinite table’ concept, while the fashion zone will showcase Latin American brands. The park can accommodate up to 50,000 visitors per day, operating from noon to midnight, with the main concerts running from 20:30 to 23:00. Twelve shows are scheduled between 18 September and 11 October, with an additional performance added for 9 October. Two VIP zones, Espacio Garden and Espacio Terrace, offer tickets starting at €500. In an op-ed for El País, Shakira explained that the residency is intended as a celebration of Latin identity in response to the “persecution and fear experienced by Latino communities worldwide.” As the residency approaches, Shakira has announced the artist lineup for ‘Es Latina’, a cultural initiative within the residency. The lineup features a mix of established and emerging Spanish and Latin American artists, including Amaia, Nathy Peluso, Guitarricadelafuente, Gale, Lia Kali, Yerai Cortés, and Aria Vega. Additionally, the ‘La Biblioteca’ space will feature Ibero-American literature in collaboration with Penguin Random House, while ‘El Mercado’ will focus on Latin American gastronomy curated by chef Rafa Zafra. In a separate musical announcement, Shakira and Maluma have revealed they will release a new collaborative single titled ‘Agua’ on September 17, 2026.
