Shakira concludes historic Madrid residency with 700,000 fans

Colombian singer Shakira has concluded her historic European residency in Madrid as part of the ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour’. The residency featured 13 sold-out shows at Macondo Park, a custom-built ephemeral city in the Villaverde district that hosted over 700,000 fans throughout the month.

The final performances included special guest appearances by Maluma, who joined Shakira to perform their recent collaboration ‘Agua’ and the hit ‘Chantaje’. Other notable guests included Laura Pausini, Bizarrap, Beéle, and Dani Martín. Shakira expressed deep emotion during the finale, describing the experience as a dream and noting that the residency marked a significant milestone in her career.

The residency had a substantial economic impact, with estimates suggesting it generated nearly 98 million euros for the city. Following her time in Spain, Shakira is scheduled to continue her international tour with upcoming stops in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Giza, Egypt.
