Shakira concludes Madrid concert residency with 700,000 attendees

Colombian singer Shakira has concluded her European residency in Madrid, part of the ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour’. The residency, held at the temporary Macondo Park between September 18 and October 12, 2026, drew a total of over 700,000 attendees across thirteen concerts.

Macondo Park served as a cultural hub featuring music, literature, gastronomy, fashion, and cinema, involving more than 1,500 artists through the ‘ES LATINA’ initiative. The final performance included guest appearances by artists such as Maluma, Bizarrap, and Laura Pausini, and concluded with a drone show.

The residency has generated significant economic discussion in Madrid. While regional President Isabel Díaz Ayuso estimated the economic impact at 400 million euros, the artist's team cited figures exceeding 200 million euros. Discrepancies exist regarding specific metrics, such as hotel booking increases, with platforms reporting varying rises in reservation rates and average room prices during the event period.
