Shane Lowry leads Amgen Irish Open after course-record round

Shane Lowry has taken a commanding lead at the Amgen Irish Open held at the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg. After shooting a course-record 62 in the second round, Lowry sits at 11-under par, holding a three-shot advantage over competitors Haotong Li and Jacob Skov Olesen.

Lowry, who previously won the tournament as an amateur in 2009, expressed his desire to secure his second Irish Open title. Despite his strong performance, he faced social media criticism during the third round after being overheard making a controversial remark regarding spectators following a wayward tee shot.

Other notable players, including Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, remain in the competition, while several high-profile golfers missed the cut. Swedish player Jens Dantorp also showed strong form, sitting in a tie for tenth place.
