Sharbano Sadat film ‘Nema dobrih muškaraca’ released in cinemas
The film ‘Nema dobrih muškaraca’ (There Are No Good Men) has arrived in local cinemas. Written, directed, and starring Sharbano Sadat, the autobiographical romantic comedy is set in Kabul in 2021, during the final days before the Taliban regained power.
The story follows Naru, a 25-year-old camera operator and the only woman in her position at a major Kabul television station, as she navigates professional ambitions and a legal battle for custody of her son. Due to the current situation in Kabul, the city's recognizable locations were reconstructed and filmed in Germany to capture the atmosphere of the period.
The film was selected to open the 76th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2026.
