Sheffield newborn murder: Five Slovakian nationals charged

Five individuals, identified as Slovakian nationals, have been remanded in custody following the discovery of a newborn baby girl stabbed to death in Sheffield, England. The infant was found on Sunday morning at a residential property on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area after police responded to safety concerns.

Forensic examinations revealed the baby girl suffered 33 injuries resulting from 15 stab wounds. Four adults—Andrea Skopova (20), Peter Horvath (19), Nina Horvathova (37), and Peter Horvath (38)—face charges of murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by attempting to conceal the killing. A 15-year-old girl has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, were previously arrested on suspicion of murder but remain on bail. South Yorkshire Police have requested that the public avoid speculating online to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation. The defendants are scheduled to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
