Shell Energy Brasil promotes Cone Sul gas market integration

During the ROG.e 2026 event, Shell Energy Brasil President Rodrigo Soares emphasized the potential for increased gas market integration within the Cone Sul region. Such integration could expand supply alternatives for Brazil and foster a more competitive regional market.

Soares noted that while regional flows are already a reality for Shell in Argentina and Chile, the challenge lies in establishing infrastructure and legal, fiscal, and regulatory predictability to facilitate these flows into Brazil. Key considerations include evaluating logistics routes through Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, or a direct connection via Rio Grande do Sul to ensure firm supply for industrial consumers.
