Shemar Moore returns in S.W.A.T. Exiles on Starz

S.W.A.T. Exiles Shemar Moore Starz police procedural TV spinoff

The Starz spinoff series ‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’ has premiered, marking the return of Shemar Moore as Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson. Set two years after the conclusion of the original CBS series, the show follows Hondo as he is pulled out of a reclusive life to lead an experimental tactical unit composed of untested and unpredictable recruits.

The narrative explores Hondo’s personal struggles, including a divorce and the loss of his mother and mentor, following a botched mission that led to his forced retirement. The new squad includes characters such as Sammy Bishop, Ethan Cole, Cassidy Han, Jude Reddick, and Malik Henderson. As Hondo attempts to build cohesion within the team, he discovers that elements within the LAPD may be working to ensure his new unit fails.

Developed by Jason Ning, the first season consists of ten episodes. Filming took place primarily in Los Angeles and Santa Clarita, California. While the series debuted on Starz in the United States in late September 2026, international viewers in regions like Germany can expect a rollout on Sky starting in October 2026.
