Shen Po-yang registers candidacy for Taipei Mayor

Shen Po-yang officially registered his candidacy for Mayor of Taipei, accompanied by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidates for city council. During the registration, former President Tsai Ing-wen attended to offer support, presenting Shen with a ship's helm as a symbol of leadership.

Tsai compared urban governance to navigating a ship, emphasizing the importance of foresight and risk management. She noted that Shen's background in national security equips him to identify potential crises before they occur. Tsai stated that Taipei, as the capital, should serve as a gateway for Taiwan to engage with the world.

Shen expressed his vision to transform Taipei into a global city comparable to Seoul, Tokyo, London, and New York. He pledged to address local issues such as child safety, urban planning, and economic vitality, aiming to be a problem-solver and pioneer for the city's future.
