Asia-Pacific Media Forum convenes in Shenzhen to discuss regional prosperity
The Asia-Pacific Media High-Level Forum (APMF) was held in Shenzhen, China, from September 2 to 5, serving as a precursor to the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. The forum brought together over 400 delegates from more than 200 media organizations, governments, and research institutes across 42 countries and territories to discuss regional prosperity, openness, and innovation.
A key outcome of the forum was the launch of the Asia-Pacific Media Partnership Program, with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) joining as one of its 16 founding members. Participants emphasized the role of media in building consensus, fostering mutual trust, and sharing stories of regional integration to support economic stability.
Discussions highlighted various facets of regional cooperation, including the deepening economic ties between China and Russia, the investment and tourism links between China and the Maldives, and the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Additionally, delegates explored the impact of technological advancements, such as AI and smart manufacturing, on the Asia-Pacific economy, noting how innovation in sectors like electric vehicles and 3D printing is driving regional growth.
