Shenzhen woman returns $125,000 gold block found on street

A woman in the Shuibei area of Shenzhen, China, returned a large block of gold valued at approximately $125,000 after finding it on the street.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 25 when a man riding a two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle hit a speed bump. The impact caused a tear in his bag, allowing the gold to fall onto the road without his knowledge.

Ms. Tai, an experienced jewelry wholesaler in the district, discovered the gold about a minute later. Rather than keeping the item, she handed it over to the security team at the Wanshan Shuibei commercial area and left her contact information to facilitate the return of the property. Security personnel documented the find and secured the gold until the owner arrived over an hour later.
