Shift Up to add frame generation toggle for Stellar Blade on Switch 2

Developer Shift Up has announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of ‘Stellar Blade: Complete Edition’ will include a toggle to enable or disable frame generation. This decision follows significant player feedback regarding the game’s recent demo.

Technical analysis of the demo revealed that the use of AMD FSR 3.1 to interpolate frames from 30 to 60 fps resulted in noticeable input lag and visual artifacts. Players noted that the delay between controller inputs and on-screen actions made precise mechanics, such as parrying and dodging, difficult to execute.

The upcoming release, scheduled for November 5, 2026, will allow users to choose between a smoother 60 fps experience using frame generation or a more responsive experience at a lower frame rate. The Switch 2 edition is expected to include additional content such as DLCs from NieR:Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
