Stellar Blade Nintendo Switch 2 release
Overview
Shift Up has officially scheduled the release of ‘Stellar Blade: Complete Edition’ for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. This follows earlier confirmations of the title during a Nintendo Direct.
Technical development continues to focus on optimizing the handheld experience. To achieve a target of 60 FPS, the studio is utilizing AMD FSR 3.1 frame interpolation to boost the framerate from a base of 30 FPS. CTO and Technical Director DongKi Lee noted that because FSR 3.1 was originally designed for PC and DirectX environments, the team had to redesign and optimize the rendering pipeline and swapchain integration specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
The Complete Edition will include original PlayStation 5 content, two DLCs, and a total of 126 costumes, including collaborations with ‘NieR: Automata’ and ‘Goddess of Victory: Nikke’. A new ‘Bayonetta’ collaboration has also been announced, featuring four distinct outfits: ‘Bayonetta’, ‘Nun’, ‘Jeanne’, and a fourth costume to be revealed later.
Early impressions from Gamescom gameplay sessions suggest the port maintains the responsive combat and precise timing of the PlayStation 5 version. The game targets 720p in handheld mode and 1080p in docked mode, though some graphical artifacts may appear in fine details due to aggressive upscaling. Platform-specific features include support for Joy-Con 2 motion controls, optimized gyro and menu controls, and the use of the console’s touch display for specific interactions, such as entering codes.
For the physical release, the game will be contained on a 32 GB cartridge to minimize large additional downloads. The package will also include various cosmetic items, such as the planetary diving suit, astronomer outfits, and accessories for characters Eve, Lily, and Adam.
