Shiga Prefecture reviews emergency stockpiles following disaster agency request

Shiga Prefecture has announced that residents currently maintain approximately one day's worth of essential supplies. This assessment follows an emergency request from the newly established Disaster Management Agency to review and improve local preparedness.

In light of these findings, the prefecture will work alongside local municipalities to conduct inspections of stockpiling levels. The initiative aims to ensure that households are better equipped to handle disruptions in logistics and retail operations during emergencies.
