Shigeru Miyamoto says he’ll keep working at Nintendo for years to come

Nintendo’s 74‑year‑old creator Shigeru Miyamoto told Japan’s Famitsu magazine that he has no specific projects lined up and no intention to retire soon. He laughed that his family urges him to slow down, but affirmed he hopes to continue working for the next decade, saying, “It wouldn’t surprise anyone if I collapsed tomorrow, so make sure you can keep going without me.”

Miyamoto remains involved in Nintendo’s broader initiatives, including film adaptations, the Super Nintendo World theme park and the mobile game Pikmin Bloom, while keeping the door open to directing a game again in the future.
