Shijingshan Center expands China's humanoid robot training

China is expanding its data training facilities to advance humanoid robot development. The Shijingshan Humanoid Robot Data Training Center in Beijing, covering over 10,000 square meters, is currently considered the largest robot school in the country.

Operated by the state-owned Jingshi Science and Technology Innovation Group and private firm Leju Robotics, the center utilizes 100 humanoid robots to generate approximately 29,000 hours of data annually. This data covers nearly 700 real-world scenarios, including household chores like folding clothes, cleaning tables, and handling kitchenware, as well as industrial tasks.

Experts use specialized equipment to guide robots through repetitive motions to ensure high-quality data collection, maintaining a 99% success rate for specific tasks. The facility is also developing virtual simulation systems to supplement real-world data. The ultimate goal is to develop the ‘embodied brain’ of Chinese humanoid robots, enabling them to integrate into various economic sectors and domestic households. The project involves a total investment of 700 million yuan.
