Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum announces ramen contest finalists
The Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum has announced the eight finalists for the ‘Minoru Sano Memorial Ramen Toryumon 2027’ contest. This year’s competition focuses on the theme of ‘100% domestic wheat tsukemen,’ aiming to discover new talent and hidden potential among ramen chefs.
The finalists will undergo a member voting process between September and November 2026, where they will host limited-time pop-up shops at the museum’s ‘Raumen Hakken LIMITED’ section. These votes will count as one official vote from the ‘Raumen Hakken Club’ during the final selection held on January 17, 2027.
The eight finalists represent various culinary approaches, including dishes featuring Kyushu miso, Isesaki burdock, Izu wasabi, and Kyoto wheat. Winners of the competition will earn the opportunity to host extended pop-up shops at the museum throughout 2027.
