Shivraj Motegaonkar seeks bail in NEET UG paper leak case

Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, who runs the RCC coaching institute in Latur, Maharashtra, filed a bail application in the Rouse Avenue court over his alleged involvement in the NEET UG 2026 exam paper leak. The Special Judge (CBI) Ajay Gupta issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation and scheduled a hearing for July 15.

The court has also extended Motegaonkar's judicial custody, along with co‑accused Prahalad Kulkarni, until July 11. A second accused, Dr. Manoj Bhagwanrao Shirure, has filed a similar bail plea, with his hearing set for July 14. The CBI alleges that Motegaonkar received the chemistry question paper on April 23, leaked it to students, and that a video shows him acknowledging the leak. He was initially arrested in Pune and placed in nine‑day custody on May 18.
