Shoaib Akhtar denies rumors of joining Pakistan Cricket Board

Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has denied rumors suggesting he will take on a leadership role within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), specifically addressing speculation regarding the chief selector position.

Speaking from Houston during a private visit, Akhtar dismissed the reports as speculative and fake. He stated that he has no interest in joining the board's administration. Akhtar explained that his decision is rooted in personal conviction, noting that his late mother advised him to stay away from both Pakistan politics and the PCB.

While expressing a desire to serve Pakistan cricket in other capacities, Akhtar clarified that he has not been offered the role and does not intend to accept any official position under PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. His comments come amid a period of scrutiny for the national team following recent losses in Test series and international competitions.
