Shokz unveils OpenFit Air 2 open-ear headphones
Shokz has officially unveiled the OpenFit Air 2, an updated version of its open-ear true wireless headphones. The new model focuses on improved comfort, enhanced battery life, and refined hardware controls.
Key physical improvements include a weight reduction to 7.2 grams per earbud, down from 8.7 grams in the previous generation. The ear hooks utilize a 0.75 mm nickel-titanium alloy for better stability and pressure distribution. Additionally, the charging case is 10.5% more compact. To address user feedback regarding accidental touches, Shokz has replaced touch controls with physical pressure buttons.
Technologically, the OpenFit Air 2 features Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity, MultiPoint support, and the Bassphere driver system with 11.8 mm transducers. Audio performance is supported by OpenBass 2.0 and DirectPitch technologies. The device offers up to 8 hours of continuous playback, with a total of 36 hours including the charging case. The earbuds carry an IP55 rating, while the case is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.
