Shooting near Paris leaves one dead and four injured
A shooting occurred on Friday morning in the Yvelines department, west of Paris, resulting in at least one death and four injuries. According to reports from French media and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, an armed 38-year-old man allegedly opened fire on random individuals from a vehicle while driving through the areas of Trappes and La Verrière.
One of the injured is a young girl whose condition is reportedly improving, according to the Mayor of La Verrière. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack. Some reports suggest the perpetrator may have used a STEN submachine gun, a weapon type originally developed during World War II. The suspect has been taken into police custody.
