Shooting Stars travels to Tunisia with 1-0 lead over CS Sfaxien

Nigerian football club Shooting Stars has traveled to Tunisia for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round match against CS Sfaxien. The team holds a narrow 1-0 advantage following a first-leg victory at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, where Emmanuel Lucky scored the decisive goal.

This trip marks the club’s first away journey in continental competition in 27 years. Shooting Stars head coach Salisu Yusuf expressed mixed emotions following the first leg, noting that while the team played a coordinated game, they missed several opportunities to extend their lead. Yusuf stated that the scoreline could have been as high as three or four goals if the players had been more clinical.

The return fixture is scheduled to take place at Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax. Yusuf emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and defending their current lead to secure progression in the tournament.
