Chicago Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts and three earned runs in a game against the Chicago White Sox on August 17. During the matchup, Imanaga surrendered a three-run home run to Randall Grichuk in the fourth inning after walking Munetaka Murakami. Although he left the mound with a lead, the Cubs' bullpen eventually surrendered a go-ahead run, causing Imanaga to miss out on his ninth win of the season. The Cubs eventually secured a 7-5 victory in extra innings following a walk-off home run by Pete Crow-Armstrong.
