Showa Kinen Park to host 2026 autumn foliage and night illumination festival

Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa and昭島 (Akishima), Tokyo, will host the ‘Autumn Leaves and Autumn Night Walk 2026’ from October 29 to November 29, 2026. The event features illuminations of ginkgo tree avenues, the Japanese Garden, and the Bonsai Garden.

In recognition of the ‘Autumn Night Walk’ being designated as a ‘Japan Nightscape Heritage’ site, the park has added October 31 to its schedule of free night access to the Japanese Garden, though standard park admission fees still apply. Visitors can also use a new official app to explore twelve scenic views within the garden.
