Shreveport police investigate multiple homicides in ArkLaTex weekend violence

A series of violent incidents across the ArkLaTex region resulted in six deaths over the weekend, including five homicides in Caddo Parish and one in Webster Parish.

In Shreveport, police are investigating a targeted double homicide on Mansfield Road. Surveillance footage from the Real Time Crime Center shows LaJames Smith, 31, and David Young, 26, traveling at high speed before their vehicle crashed into a building. Approximately 40 seconds after the crash, a suspect arrived in another vehicle, approached the crashed car, and fired multiple rounds into it before fleeing. Authorities stated they believe the shooting was a targeted attack.

Other fatalities in Caddo Parish included the shooting of 21-year-old Jamarkus Fisher during a fight at a gas station near Jewella Avenue and Greenwood Road, and the stabbing death of 37-year-old Stemond Scott following a domestic dispute. Gabrielle Mitchell, 40, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing incident. In Webster Parish, a man was fatally shot during an argument at a residence.
