Shenzhen jewelry district returns 900,000 yuan gold bar
A gold bar weighing 758.9 grams and valued at approximately 900,000 yuan (roughly 3.5 billion VND) was successfully returned to its owner in the Shuibei jewelry district of Shenzhen.
On the afternoon of August 25, a man riding a two-wheeled balancing scooter hit a speed bump on Wanshan East Road, causing his bag to tear and the gold bar to fall out unnoticed. A local jewelry wholesaler, Ms. Cai, discovered the item shortly after. Recognizing its high value due to her experience in the industry, she immediately handed the gold to security personnel at the Wanshan Shopping Center.
Following standard procedures, security staff registered and secured the item. Within approximately one hour, the owner arrived at the scene accompanied by police. After verifying the incident through CCTV footage, the gold bar was returned intact. Security captain Zhang Qiwei noted that this incident is part of a broader trend of integrity in the area, having handled nearly 20 similar cases of lost high-value jewelry that were all eventually returned.
