Iran executes Siavasch Jamshidi following nationwide protests

Iranian authorities have executed Siavasch Jamshidi in Shahrekord following his involvement in nationwide protests. The judiciary website Mizan reported the execution took place at dawn. Jamshidi was convicted of charges including “war against God” (moharebeh), the use of firearms, and conspiracy against national security. Prosecutors alleged he shot at police officers during demonstrations in January.

Human rights organizations, including Iran Human Rights and Amnesty International, have raised alarms regarding the scale of executions in the country. Reports indicate that at least 32 men have been executed in connection with the recent wave of protests. Amnesty International noted that Iran executed at least 2,159 people in 2025, marking the highest number since 1981.

Additionally, human rights groups warn that at least 100 more protesters currently face the threat of execution. In separate judicial actions, activists such as Reza Mostafaei, a person with physical disabilities, have also been detained in connection with supporting the families of those killed during the protests.
