Sibiu-based Proiect Consult advances rail modernization across Romania
A construction firm headquartered in Sibiu is carrying out extensive modernization and maintenance work on Romania’s railway network. The company is active on several major lines, including the Bucharest–Pitești and Bucharest–Vidle corridors, and has completed projects from Bucharest to Galați, as well as in regions such as Craiova, Brașov, Timișoara, Iași and Cluj. Ongoing contracts focus on eliminating speed restrictions, replacing track superstructures, and welding rails using aluminothermic and electric‑arc techniques to improve train speed, reduce vibrations and lower maintenance costs.
The firm’s activities align with national railway investment programmes financed by European and Romanian funds, aiming to raise line performance and safety standards countrywide.
