Sibiu hosts jazz festival and digital theatre premieres in September

The Sibiu cultural scene features several major artistic events scheduled for September 2026. The Scena Digitală platform will host three premieres following their presentations at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) 2026. These include Milo Rau’s ‘Children of Medea’, a production blending a real-life case with classical tragedy; ‘Fado – Voice of the Soul’, a musical exploration of Portuguese fado; and ‘MOYA – One Single Soul’, a contemporary circus performance by the South African company Zip Zap Circus.

Additionally, the 54th edition of the Sibiu Jazz Festival will take place from September 2 to 6. The festival aims to bridge traditional jazz with contemporary improvisation, featuring artists such as saxophonist Primo Salvati and the Equinox Quintet, winners of the previous year’s Sibiu Jazz Competition.
