Sibiu‑Făgăraș A13 highway in Romania 30% complete, opening expected 2028

The 68‑km Sibiu‑Făgăraș A13 highway is under construction across four lots. Lot 1 (Boița‑Avrig‑Mârșa) is 12.4% finished, Lot 2 (Avrig‑Mârșa‑Arpașu de Jos) 36.7% complete, Lot 3 (Arpașu de Jos‑Sâmbăta de Sus) 38% complete, and Lot 4 (Sâmbăta de Sus‑Făgăraș) 13.1% complete. Work includes excavation, earthworks, construction of all bridges and viaducts, relocation of utilities and installation of structural pillars.

The project costs 6.39 billion lei and is funded by non‑repayable European Union funds. The contractor for all sections is MAKYOL INSAAT SANAYI TURIZM VE TİCARE. Completion is scheduled for 2028, after which the highway will reduce travel time between Sibiu and Brașov by about one hour.
