SICCII to strengthen ties with Indian policymakers and industry

Pradeep Menon, the newly appointed CEO of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCII), announced plans to strengthen ties with the Indian government, policymakers, and industry leaders. This strategic move aims to bolster business relations and promote cross-border trade in alignment with India’s growing economy.

As part of this initiative, SICCII intends to send targeted business delegations to major Indian states, beginning with Tamil Nadu, to create opportunities for Singapore-based companies. Menon noted that the relationship is mutually beneficial: Indian companies seek Singapore’s expertise to increase productivity cost-effectively, while Singaporean firms gain access to India’s vast consumer market and talent pool.

Addressing the challenge of human resource shortages, Menon emphasized that Singapore relies on international talent to fill gaps that cannot be met domestically, identifying India as a critical source of skilled professionals.
