Sicily allocates €500,000 to 26 active‑aging projects
The Regional Department of Family and Social Policies in Sicily has approved a total of €500,000 to fund 26 projects aimed at promoting active ageing. The funding, drawn from the National Family Policies Fund for 2024, supports initiatives that encourage social participation, cultural and recreational activities, health education, physical exercise, digital inclusion, and volunteerism among people over 65.
The projects are intended to reduce isolation and loneliness, improve digital skills, and strengthen the role of seniors as active contributors to their communities. The definitive list of funded proposals has been published on the regional government portal.
