Sicily approves funding for 243 vocational training courses
The Sicily Region has published the final rankings for Notice 33 of 2026, approving funding for 243 professional education and training (IeFP) courses. These programs are designed for students who have completed middle school and wish to pursue vocational skills rather than traditional high school paths.
Regional Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Mimmo Turano, confirmed that the courses are scheduled to begin on September 15, aligning with the start of the standard school year. The administration noted that completing the ranking process on time avoids delays for students seeking professional training.
In addition to the course launches, the regional government and the Sicilian Regional School Office (USR) will hold eight meetings across various provinces from mid-September to early October. These meetings will conclude with the ‘General States of Sicilian Schools’ in Palermo on October 14 and 15 to review educational initiatives and plan for the upcoming academic cycle.
