Sicily authorizes 37 million euros in agricultural advances

The Sicilian regional administration has authorized advance payments totaling approximately 37 million euros for agricultural enterprises. These funds are part of the 2023/2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategic plan, specifically targeting integrated production (Sra 01) and compensatory indemnity (Srb 01-02-03) measures.

Regional Agriculture Councilor Luca Sammartino stated that this action allows Sicily to exceed its 2026 spending targets well ahead of the December 31 deadline. He noted that the move demonstrates the region's capacity to utilize European Union resources effectively and provides thousands of farms with the liquidity needed to plan their activities with greater certainty.
