Sicily experiences heatwave with temperatures nearing 39°C

Sicily is experiencing a significant heatwave driven by warm air masses from Africa. Temperatures have reached highs near 39 degrees Celsius, with Calderari in the Enna province recording 38.7 degrees. Other high temperatures were noted in La Callura (38.5°C), Campobello di Mazara (38.3°C), and Carlentini (37.5°C). The heat affects multiple provinces, including Messina, Trapani, Agrigento, Caltanissetta, and Palermo.

Despite the intense heat, weather forecasts indicate stable conditions for the upcoming weekend due to a high-pressure system. The region is expected to see clear or partly cloudy skies across the Tyrrhenian, Ionian, and southern coasts. Winds are expected to remain weak, and sea conditions will be calm to slightly choppy.
