Sicily extends tax amnesty deadline to December 15, 2026

The Sicilian Regional Assembly has approved an extension for the ‘Stracciabollo’ program, pushing the deadline for the facilitated settlement of regional debts from October 31 to December 15, 2026. The measure was included in a budget amendment proposed by Ignazio Abbate, president of the Assembly’s Institutional Affairs Commission.

The program allows taxpayers to regularize debts incurred up to December 31, 2025, by paying only the original principal amount. All associated penalties and interest will be waived. This applies to vehicle taxes (bollo auto) for the tax years 2016 through 2024, as well as 2025 liabilities.

Beyond vehicle taxes, the amnesty covers 41 different types of regional tax and patrimonial revenues. Citizens can manage vehicle tax regularizations through ACI delegations or authorized automotive practice agencies.
