Sicily Hosts Major Architecture and Sustainable Building Events in June 2026

On 25‑26 June 2026 the region of Sicily held two high‑profile architecture‑focused gatherings. The TINKINGREEN 2026 conference, organized by the Istituto Nazionale di Bioarchitettura ETS, opened with a panel on "Sustainable building of the third millennium" and featured speakers such as regional assessor Edy Tamajo, University of Palermo researcher Federica Fernandez, Tecnova Group director Antonio Privitera, and Anna Carulli, president of the institute. The programme also included the inauguration of Benedetto Poma’s exhibition "Mediterraneo tra mito e mitologia".

The same weekend, the Teatro Greco Romano in Catania hosted the Festa dell'Architetto 2026, titled "Catania Phoenix – Antico Futuro". The free, registration‑based event presented guided tours, institutional welcomes from city mayor Enrico Trantino and university rectors, and panel discussions on the city's ancient heritage, archaeological preservation, and ongoing restoration projects. Performances by soprano Sachika Ito and pianist Davide Sciacca rounded out the programme, and participants earned continuing‑education credits.
