Italy issues yellow weather alerts for heat in Sicily and storms in Campania

Regional civil protection authorities in Italy have issued yellow weather alerts for two areas. In Sicily, a heat alert warns of temperatures up to 33 °C, a level‑1 heat‑wave warning for Palermo and a pre‑alert for medium fire risk, urging residents to avoid outdoor activity during peak heat and to prevent ignition sources. The same agency also notes the possibility of sudden afternoon thunderstorms, especially over inland zones such as Enna, with rapid temperature drops of up to 7 °C.

In Campania, a yellow alert covering the whole region is active from 13:00 to 20:00 on 25 June. It forecasts rain, hail, strong gusts and lightning, with an accompanying hydro‑geological risk of floods, landslides and debris flow. Local authorities have closed parks in Naples and the Bagnoli pier, and advise checking the stability of public green spaces and exposed structures. Both alerts recommend that municipalities activate emergency plans and that citizens follow official updates and adopt precautionary behaviour.
