Sicily launches Lab_School project to combat addiction through sport

The Lab_School project has launched its second year in Sicily, focusing on using sports and healthy lifestyles to prevent and combat addiction among students. Funded by the Sicilian Regional Department of Education and Vocational Training, the initiative utilizes innovative teaching methods and non-formal education to promote physical and mental well-being.

Activities include inclusive sports demonstrations, meetings with life and sports mentors, and training for teachers to help identify early signs of distress in students. The project is part of the SHE (School for Health in Europe) Sicily network, an agreement between the Sicilian Department of Health and the Regional School Office. The program also includes a corner dedicated to promoting blood donation as a form of active citizenship.
