SICK and ST launch new industrial and automotive image sensors
SICK has introduced the SensingCam SEC200, a compact image-based code reader intended for food manufacturing traceability and logistics. The device utilizes a 1.3-megapixel monochrome CMOS sensor with global-shutter technology to enable precise identification of 1D, 2D, QR, and Data Matrix codes in high-speed environments. It features a scan rate of up to 60 fps and can handle transport speeds of up to 1.5 m/s.
Separately, ST is sampling the VD56GA, a 1.1 MP automotive image sensor designed for infrared in-cabin sensing. Utilizing the ST DeepNIR backside-illuminated pixel architecture, the sensor aims to reduce the overall cost of camera modules by allowing for lower-cost optics and simplified infrared illumination. The sensor includes embedded image-processing functions such as auto exposure and dark calibration to eliminate the need for external processing resources.
