Sicredi strengthens Brazil presence with new branch and SME credit support

Sicredi Serrana opened a new agency in the Vila Jansen community of Farroupilha, Rio Grande do Sul on 16 July, expanding its local network to four branches and employing more than 60 staff. The new office follows the cooperative’s strategy of proximity and personalized service for residents and entrepreneurs in the interior region.

In Recife, Sicredi marked its 33‑year anniversary, highlighting that 96.2 % of its corporate members are micro and small enterprises. The cooperative, now serving 10 million members nationwide, has helped firms such as Vibe Telecom to grow operations and invest in modern infrastructure. Sicredi’s model is presented as a key driver of local economic development across Brazil’s regions.
