Siderno inaugurates new school canteens in infrastructure upgrade

The municipality of Siderno has inaugurated new school canteen facilities at the ‘Michele Bello’ and ‘Randazzo’ school complexes. These projects are part of a broader initiative to modernize local educational infrastructure.

The ‘Randazzo’ canteen project was funded through the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) via the Ministry of Education and Merit, with the administration receiving €880,000 for the project. The new facilities feature high energy efficiency standards, thermal and acoustic insulation, and the use of renewable energy sources. The design also includes new green areas intended to involve students in eco-sustainability practices.

Mayor Mariateresa Fragomeni emphasized that these spaces serve as more than just dining areas, acting as hubs for social education and healthy nutrition. The inaugurations follow other recent local improvements, including the ‘Corrado Alvaro’ middle school and the ‘Pascoli’ gymnasium.
