Siemens Energy invests $510 million in US plants and expands energy grid projects
Siemens Energy is expanding its global footprint through significant infrastructure investments and strategic projects. The company has announced a $510 million investment in the United States to bolster production capacities. This includes a $300 million high-voltage switchgear plant in Mississippi and a $190 million manufacturing hub in Fort Worth, Texas, designed to supply electrical equipment for data centers. These US expansions are expected to create over 1,500 jobs.
In Europe, a consortium including Siemens Energy has secured a contract from 50Hertz to implement the North Sea Connector 2 converter system. This project aims to transport offshore wind power from the North Sea to Germany, with onshore facilities planned near Schwerin. Additionally, the company is supporting a £1 billion grid expansion program by National Grid in the United Kingdom to meet the rising energy demands of data centers.
Financially, Siemens Energy has completed a share buyback program totaling approximately €1 billion. While the company reports strong operational signals, including high order backlogs and improved cash flow, analysts note that the stock price reflects high market optimism regarding future margins.
